WELCOME
This site is dedicated to review and discussion of the topic of reliable, secure, location-independent naming and
binding of grid resources and services. Specifically, the authors have drafted a specification for a Secure grid
Naming Protocol (SGNP), and have released the first version of an SGNP reference implementation.
Also released is a prototype application that demonstrates the key attributes of SGNP, a proposed standard for
scalable, secure and migration-transparent naming of global grid resources and services.
PLAY A ROLE
The authors encourage grid developers and other interested parties to download a copy of the SGNP draft specification, and
to install and test the initial reference implementation and demonstration application available at the project
site. Your comments, bug reports, and other suggestions would be appreciated. And please stay tuned to this project
site for further news regarding standards body deliberations, revisions of the draft specification, etc.
Download the Reference Implementation and Prototype App
The SGNP Reference Implementation and its prototype application can be downloaded from the Project Files page of the
SGNP project site. They are intended to provide a demonstration of the protocol's global namespace, security, and
failure/migration transparency capabilities. Participants should note that these are based on an evolving set of naming and communications principles
which will by definition be modified over time, by virtue of both project-member and community input. Please review
the ReadMe information closely in advance of installation and use, and post any questions or comments to the SourceForge
site. |
